What I help with
About me
I trained as a psychotherapist after working as a support worker for homeless men and women for many years. I learnt how easy it is for someone living a good healthy life to get into trouble, and how hard it is to realise it's time to get help. I have had therapy before with really good therapists, which has helped a huge amount, and with therapists who I didn't think understood my life or challenges. I adapt my style for the person I see. Sometimes that involves saying more, sometimes less. My aim is to provide a space welcoming enough for anything to be said - without judgment.
My approach with men
I have been a therapist in a service working with men for over four years and have helped design approaches that suit men best. Of course every man is different, and so every man must find his own solution. There is a perception men don’t talk but really this is about finding a comfortable place to do so, which is not often available in counselling and psychotherapy.
How we get started
Drop me an email, text or call. We'll set up a meeting to think about how best to describe what you want from therapy. You can also have a call first. In a session we start with thinking kindly, bravely about what brings you to therapy and why now and figure out what the best way forward is.
