What I help with
About me
I’m Kieran, a counsellor with a background in engineering and management. I spent much of my working life in predominantly male environments, where vulnerability was often hidden behind competence, humour and simply getting on with it. My own experiences of divorce, difficulties around fatherhood and surviving a suicidal crisis shaped my path into therapy. I’m grounded, straightforward and easy to talk to, with a bit of humour where it fits. I offer online sessions across the UK and Ireland, and face to face or Walk and Talk sessions in Randalstown.
My approach with men
Many men I work with are good in a crisis and used to sorting things out for everyone else, but privately feel drained, irritable, stuck or not quite themselves. I won’t analyse you, judge you or hand you a list of quick fixes. Together, we’ll slow things down and become curious about what is happening underneath. We can explore where certain patterns or ways of coping came from, what purpose they may have served and whether they are still helping. The aim is to understand yourself better, giving you more choice in how you respond rather than continuing on autopilot.
How we get started
You can book a free 15 minute introductory call through my website. It gives us a chance to have a chat, talk about what brings you to counselling and see whether I feel like the right fit. You can also contact me directly by phone, message or email and I’ll get back to you.
