What I help with
About me
I'm a psychodynamic counsellor and BACP registered member (MBACP) working in St Albans and online across the UK. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over twenty years in advertising and media so I understand the commercial world and the pressure to keep performing. A lot of men have become adept at holding it together and less used to having a space that's just for them. I trained at The Counselling Foundation in St Albans and offer a calm, confidential place to slow down and talk honestly about what's going on.
My approach with men
I give men the space they need to talk about their feelings in a non judgmental environment. Together we pay attention to what's happening now and how it connects to earlier experiences and patterns you may keep running into, at work, in relationships or with yourself. I won't hand you a script or a set of exercises. We'll go at your pace and it's fine to arrive not knowing where to start, or feeling sceptical about therapy. Some men want to talk through something specific, like stress, anger or a relationship ending. Others just know something isn't right. Both are a good place to begin.
How we get started
Get in touch and we'll arrange a free 20-minute call. It's a chance to ask questions, tell me a little about what's brought you here and see if working together feels right, with no obligation. If it does, we'll book a first session. Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £60, in St Albans or online.
