What I help with
About me
I completed my qualifications while working in a demanding emergency services role. This professional experience in life-threatening situations shapes the way I work as a therapist: providing a grounding presence, with expertise and candour, and able to stay with you through what is difficult without retreating from it. My written work on masculinity is taught on the University of London's MSc syllabus as a core text for trainee therapists. Before working in private practice, my one-to-one work included roles within the NHS, bereavement services and the criminal justice system.
My approach with men
I believe there is no 'one size fits all' for working with men, but I do have over thirty years of experience working one-to-one with a diverse range of men - most of my client testimonials are from men, and I'd invite you to look at my website for more information and get in touch. I also understand the reluctance many men feel when approaching therapy for the first time - It's easy to see it as a weakness or waste of time, but in reality it takes considerable strength to challenge stigma, take a risk on someone else, and begin the work.
How we get started
Message me on WhatsApp, E-mail or text with your availability, to ask questions or we can arrange a free half-hour chat to see how we might work together. Or have a look at my website for more information. I look forward to hearing from you.
