What I help with

About me

Hi, I'm Chris - an integrative psychotherapist with 5 years' experience working with a range of issues: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, loneliness, bereavement/grief, low self-esteem, self-development/personal growth, gay men's issues, anger, somatic (body) issues, spirituality, meaning, shame, empowerment etc. In therapy, I prioritise being a real human being, who has experienced and grown through struggles of my own. Based on this, my core values are authenticity, humility and respect. I am to show up to each encounter with presence, emotional attunement and sensitivity.

My approach with men

A core part of the way I work is to notice what we have shut off from emotionally, and to open a path towards re-integrating those parts of ourselves, thus enabling us to lead lives more fully embracing who we are. I have a lot of experience with gay men, helping me cultivate greater awareness of the unique combination of discrimination, judgement, shame, and pride that this group can experience. I have also run a Men's Peer Support Group at The Claremont Project in London. This gave me greater familiarity with men's issues, helping me appreciate the unique way men need to be supported.

How we get started

I offer an initial session at half my usual rate. This gives you a lower-stakes chance to see if you would be a good fit with me (as I know it's very important to find someone who 'feels' right for you). This can be in-person or online.
