What I help with
About me
Following 28 years as a business support manager and union rep, counselling journey began 2020. Have a level 4 diploma in Counselling Practice (Merit). Initial placement at a domestic abuse centre seeing clients affected by violence, trauma, self-worth, anxiety, ADHD, autism and subsequent on-going relationships. Since March of this year I have been practising in a private capacity. I have life where experience; relationships, bereavement, work challenges, family, neurodivergence, the daily pressures we all face. Naturally empathic, diplomatic, patient, humorous, engaging - a respect for all
My approach with men
We are diverse, yet I believe that men's mental health has a particular nuance that as a male counsellor I recognise and I will empathically feel your concerns. I know for you that it isn't easy. But we aren't as strong as we feel we should be. and I know that the challenges you face have a detrimental impact on your well-being. My aim is to support you to realise the contentment you deserve, and the conversations and dialogue we share will become a narrative of your life. No magic wand, no box of tricks, just 'cutting to the chase' with a guiding hand to help you get where you need to be.
How we get started
An initial telephone call followed by our first meeting. I take an eclectic approach, allowing you to guide your own sessions. I will identify and challenge your beliefs and behaviours, working through the major facets of your life to discuss the fundamental obstacles that exist within your world.
