What I help with

About me

I live in Bournemouth and volunteer as a charity counsellor. I was part of a local street angel group for a few years helping and providing a listening ear to vulnerable people at night. I am married with three grown up children. I enjoy jogging and walks with my family and dog, and am passionate about providing a space for others to offload so facilitate a monthly Men's walk, as I have seen the benefits similar groups have been to myself. I enjoy journaling and creative writing.

My approach with men

A safe space to connect and be heard by another is one of the most important foundations to finding healing and wholeness. An important part of this is to provide a non-judgemental space early on, as one area which hinders guys to talk, is shame. It is only when we talk about things and shining a light on what is keeping them captive, can they then actually begin to step out of dark places. If you chose to, your Christian faith can be explored as part of the process. This said, being led by you, we can work together with all faiths or none.

How we get started

I am person centred so give you space to open up at your pace. I offer a free initial assessment so that I know whether I am the right person for you and, if so, when we start counselling I have a good background from which to work.
