What I help with
About me
As an Integrative Counsellor, I work with Person Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis. I’m also trained to deliver Therapy Outdoors, which takes counselling out of the traditional counselling room and into the countryside where we can engage with Nature while working therapeutically. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and an Accredited Member of the National Counsel of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP). I'm also an Armed Forces Veteran (RAF).
My approach with men
Talking to someone about our struggles generally isn’t easy for a man. I know this, because I’m a man. I hate the idea of showing weakness, of admitting to myself or others that I’m struggling to cope. ‘Man up’ or ‘Grow a pair!’ We’ve all heard these phrases, many of us live (unhealthily) aligning with them. Believing that to be a man, is to show no vulnerabilities or weakness. In reality the true weakness is to mask, because it’s incredibly difficult to open up. You’re reading this for a reason, I’m willing to listen, explore, and ultimately help you help yourself, like others have for me.
How we get started
An email, thats all. I'll respond as soon as I can, usually within 24 hours. I'll offer you a free 30 min call, not therapy, just a confidential chat. There's no commitment, I'll send over info on how I work then let you decide if you want to book a first session.
