What I help with
About me
I’m Craig Johnson, a qualified integrative counsellor and Registered Member of the BACP. I offer a calm, warm and down-to-earth space for men who feel anxious, low, overwhelmed, lonely or stuck. Alongside private practice, I am a Teaching Fellow in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Salford. I also have experience with the men’s mental health charity Mentell, supporting spaces where men can speak openly, honestly and without judgement.
My approach with men
I firmly believe that therapy should feel human, not clinical or cold.My approach with men is calm, collaborative and down-to-earth. I offer a space where you do not have to perform, minimise what you feel, or pretend everything is fine. I work integratively, with a strong Person-Centred foundation, while also drawing on CBT and Transactional Analysis where helpful. Together, we can explore anxiety, low mood, anger, grief, shame, relationships, loneliness, identity, self worth or whatever else you need to bring into the room. We work at your pace.
How we get started
Getting started is simple. You can contact me by email or telephone to arrange a free 15-minute introductory call. We can briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, what you are looking for, and whether working together feels like the right fit for you
