What I help with

About me

*Currently offering £20 off initial sessions* Hi, I’m Alex — a BACP-registered counsellor based in East Bristol. I offer a warm, relational approach, creating an open, compassionate space where you can explore at your own pace. My work is informed by existential, psychodynamic and humanistic ideas, and I often support people with anxiety, depression, identity, and life’s challenges. I’m especially interested in how our past shapes the present and in finding ways to meet the pressures of today’s world with honesty and care.

My approach with men

My work with men is shaped by the reality that masculinity today is often both challenged and expected at the same time. Many men struggle with expressing emotions after being raised in environments that promoted stoicism and suppression. I also focus on the real-life pressures of fatherhood, the search for meaning beyond routine, and the loneliness that can come with isolation—helping men move toward stronger identity and more genuine connection.

How we get started

A complimentary 15-minute phone consultation is available to talk through what has brought you to therapy and to give you a chance to hear my voice and get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. If it feels right, we can then arrange an initial 50-minute session.
