What I help with

About me

Hi, my name is James and I am a qualified BACP registered integrative counsellor. My private practice is based in Clapham and Tooting, South London. I work with clients experiencing ADHD, Anxiety, Binge/Compulsive Eating, Bereavement/Grief/Loss, Depression, Relationships, Self Esteem, Stress and Trauma. I originally worked within the NHS providing short term therapy before working in private practice. I actively support the LGBTQIA+ community providing a safe and inclusive space to people who want to experience open ended therapy. My background was in the entertainment industry.

My approach with men

I strongly believe in the value of co-creating a therapeutic relationship with my clients and I draw upon many approaches to therapy to suit a person’s needs; Existential, Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis, exploring how early attachment styles can influence adult relationships. I think it’s important to develop and grow during therapy, to understand and except who you are as a man. From my experience men can struggle to open their inner world of thoughts and feelings, struggling to express their vulnerabilities of sadness, fears, anger and/or shame.

How we get started

I offer an initial conversation to talk through what brings you to therapy and to how I can support you. Please send me an Email or WhatsApp to arrange a time to speak by phone and please visit my web site for more information.
