What I help with
About me
I work with men who may feel pressure to cope alone, keep going or hide what they are struggling with. Therapy can offer a private, non-judgemental space to explore anger, anxiety, low mood, shame, loneliness, relationship or intimacy difficulties, fatherhood, work pressures and questions about identity or masculinity. I can help you understand patterns that may be affecting your life and relationships, including the influence of earlier experiences. As a mixed Black therapist, I am also attentive to culture, race, belonging and difference.
My approach with men
My approach is warm, thoughtful and direct. I understand that many men have learned to keep difficulties to themselves, stay in control or express distress through anger, withdrawal, overworking or shutting down. I offer a non-judgemental space to slow things down, put words to what is happening and understand the patterns beneath it. We can explore relationships, intimacy, identity, fatherhood, work, culture and masculinity, while finding more helpful ways of relating to yourself and others.
How we get started
We begin with an initial consultation to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you would like help with and whether working together feels right. From there, we can agree a regular time and begin exploring things at a pace that feels manageable.
