What I help with
About me
I’m Joe Zagame, a psychotherapist and Executive Director of myTherapyNYC. I work with adults navigating relationship challenges, trauma, anxiety, and questions of identity and belonging. I have a particular focus on supporting LGBTQ+ clients and helping men build more connected, fulfilling lives. My style is warm, engaged, and collaborative, with attention to both your inner experience and the relationships that matter to you. I offer individual, couples, and group therapy.
My approach with men
I help men make room for feelings and needs that can be difficult to express, especially when they have learned to handle things alone. Together, we explore patterns in relationships, stay curious about emotions, and work toward greater self-understanding and connection. My approach is relational and experiential, drawing on AEDP, IFS, and EMDR. I aim to create a space where you can feel understood, take emotional risks at your own pace, and develop more satisfying ways of relating to yourself and others.
How we get started
Reach out through myTherapyNYC to share what brings you to therapy and ask about availability, fees, and insurance. We’ll discuss whether working together feels like a good fit. In our first sessions, we’ll explore your concerns, goals, and what you hope to change. Sessions are typically weekly.
