Scope of these terms

These terms apply to your access to and use of our website and related services (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

Our role

We provide a platform where therapists create profiles and users can search for and contact them. We are not a healthcare provider and we do not offer clinical services. Any agreement for services is strictly between the therapist and the client. We do not supervise, direct, control or guarantee any therapist’s practice.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Site. If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure and accept responsibility for all activity on your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or create risk for us or others.

Therapists’ eligibility and obligations

To be listed on MTH, therapists confirm and agree that they:

  • Hold an active, unrestricted licence or registration for every jurisdiction in which they advertise or accept clients, and practise strictly within scope. For United States practice, this includes holding a current state licence (for example LMFT, LPC/LPCC, LCSW, Psychologist, Psychiatrist/MD/DO) in each state where clients are taken.

  • Comply with local laws and rules, including telehealth, interstate practice, supervision and record-keeping requirements that apply where services are provided.

  • Maintain professional indemnity/professional liability insurance appropriate to their practice and jurisdiction.

  • Adhere to the ethical standards of their recognised professional body or licensing board, including safeguarding and complaints handling.

  • Undertake supervision and continuing professional development/continuing education as required by their regulator or professional body.

  • Provide accurate, current profile information (name, qualifications, licence numbers and issuing bodies, jurisdictions of practice, modalities, fees, availability and contact details) and promptly update it if anything changes.

  • Avoid misleading or unverifiable claims in profiles or communications, including outcomes, success rates or protected titles they are not authorised to use.

  • Respond to enquiries professionally and in good faith and manage their own bookings, records, consent, data protection and privacy obligations.
We may review, refuse or remove any profile that we reasonably believe breaches these terms, applicable law or our values.

User responsibilities

When using the Site to find or contact a therapist, you agree to:

  • use the platform lawfully and respectfully

  • not send abusive, offensive or inappropriate messages

  • understand that therapy is not provided by MTH and that we do not guarantee outcomes or the quality of any individual therapist

  • make your own independent judgement when choosing a therapist

No medical advice and emergencies

Information on the Site is for general information only. It is not medical or mental-health advice, diagnosis or treatment. Use of the Site does not create a therapist–client relationship with MTH.
United States: if you are experiencing an emergency call 911 or 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
Outside the United States: contact your local emergency services.

Messages and confidentiality

Messages sent through MTH are delivered to the therapist you choose. We do not monitor or store message content. Do not share sensitive medical, financial or emergency information through the Site.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • misrepresent your identity or impersonate others

  • upload or share unlawful, infringing, deceptive or harmful content

  • attempt to hack, disrupt or damage the Site

  • harvest or scrape data for commercial use without our written permission
We may suspend or delete accounts or profiles that violate these rules.

Fees, subscriptions and cancellations (therapists)

Some features require a paid subscription. At checkout we will display the price, billing interval and renewal terms.

  • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

  • Consent: starting a subscription authorises recurring charges until you cancel.

  • Cancellation: you can cancel at any time in your account settings or by emailing support@menstherapyhub.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

  • Trials and promotions: if offered, any free trial or promotion will be shown at checkout and converts to a paid plan unless cancelled before it ends.

  • Refunds: unless stated otherwise at purchase or required by law, fees are non-refundable and partially used periods are not prorated.
For US subscribers: we present renewal terms clearly before purchase, obtain affirmative consent to recurring charges and provide an easy online cancellation method.

Intellectual property

The Site and all content we create, including text, graphics, logos and branding, are owned by MTH or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute or create derivative works without our written permission.

Listings and other content

Therapists and users are solely responsible for the content they provide. We may remove or disable content that we believe violates these terms or the law. MTH is a platform provider and is not the publisher of user content.

Copyright and removal requests

We respect intellectual-property rights. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email support@menstherapyhub.com with details of the material, where it appears on our Site and proof of ownership. We will review and, where appropriate, remove or restrict access to the content.

We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation or that the Site is free from harmful components.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MTH and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Site. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of USD $100 or the amounts you paid to us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MTH and our affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents from claims, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of the Site, your content or your breach of these terms or applicable law. Therapists further agree to indemnify MTH for claims related to their professional services.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to all or part of the Site at any time if we believe a user or therapist has violated these terms, created risk or possible legal exposure for us, or for any other lawful reason. You may stop using the Site at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. If you continue using the Site after changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.

How to choose a therapist:

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’re thinking about starting therapy. Maybe for the first time. That’s no small thing. Getting to this point takes guts. Acknowledging that things might not be quite right and deciding to do something about it is a massive first step. So first off, well done.

We know choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming. There are a lot of options, and it’s easy to get stuck not knowing where to start. That’s why we created our Get Matched service. It’s designed to take some of the stress out of finding the right person for you.

Still not sure who’s right? That’s okay. Here are a few things to keep in mind.

Figure Out What You Need

Before anything else, try to get clearer on what’s going on for you. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or something that feels harder to describe? Maybe it’s your relationships or how you see yourself. Whatever it is, having a rough idea of what you want to work on can help guide your search.

Some therapists specialize in certain areas. Others work more generally. If you’re not sure what you need, ask. A good therapist will be honest about what they can help with.

Think About What Makes You Comfortable

Therapy only works if you feel trusting enough to talk. So the relationship matters. Here are a few questions to help you figure out what feels right.

  • Would you rather speak to someone over video from your own home, or in person somewhere else?
  • Do you feel more at ease with someone who listens quietly, or someone who’s more direct?
  • Would you benefit from seeing someone who understands your background or experience?

There are no right answers here, just what works for you.

Look Beyond the Letters

Every therapist listed on Men’s Therapy Hub is licensed with a professional body. That means they’ve been trained and follow a code of ethics. So you don’t have to worry about whether someone’s legit. They are.

Instead, focus on what else matters. What kind of therapy do they offer? What do they sound like in their profile? Do they come across as someone you could talk to without feeling judged?

Try to get a sense of how they see the work. Some will be more reflective and insight-based. Others might focus on behavior and practical strategies. It’s about what speaks to you.

Test the Waters

Many therapists offer a free or low-cost consultation phone call. Use it to get a feel for how they work. You can ask about their experience, how they structure sessions, payment options, and what therapy might look like with them. A few good questions are:

  • Have you worked with men facing similar issues?
  • What does your approach involve?
  • How do your sessions usually run?
  • How do I pay for sessions?

Pay attention to how you feel during the conversation. Do you feel heard? Do you feel safe? That gut feeling counts.

It’s Okay to Change Your Mind

You might not get it right the first time. That’s normal. If something feels off or you don’t feel like you’re making progress, it’s fine to try someone else. You’re allowed to find someone who fits. Therapy is about you, not about sticking it out with the first person you meet.

Starting therapy is a big decision. It means you’re ready to stop carrying everything on your own. Finding the right therapist can take time, but it’s worth it. The right person can help you make sense of things, see patterns more clearly, and move forward with strength and clarity.

You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to start.

About our therapists

At Men’s Therapy Hub, we understand that finding the right therapist is an important step in the journey towards better mental health. That’s why we ensure that all our therapists are fully qualified and registered with, or licenced by,  a recognized professional body – guaranteeing that they meet high standards of training and ethics. This registration or licence is your assurance that our therapists are not only appropriately trained,  but also bound by a code of conduct that prioritizes your well-being and confidentiality.

We know that therapy starts with finding the right therapist, so MTH offers clients a wide range of choices to ensure they find the therapist that best suits their individual needs. Flexible options for therapy sessions include both online and in-person appointments catering to different preferences and lifestyles. In addition, therapists offering a variety of approaches are available – enabling clients to choose a style that resonates most with them. Whether seeking a therapist nearby or one with specific expertise, Men’s Therapy Hub ensures that clients have access to diverse and personalized options for their mental health journey.

All the therapists signed up to MTH are not just experienced practitioners but professionals who recognise the unique challenges that men face in today’s world. Our therapists offer a wide range of experiences and expertise, meaning clients can find someone with the insight and experience to offer them relevant and effective support.

Furthermore, MTH will support our therapists in engaging in Continuing Education specifically focused on men’s mental health. This will include staying up-to-date with the latest research, therapeutic approaches, and strategies for addressing the issues that affect men. We’ll also feature men out there, doing the work, so we can all learn from each other. By continually developing their knowledge and skills, our therapists are better equipped to support clients in a way that’s informed by the most current evidence-based practices.

If you’re ready to take the next step towards positive change we’re here to help. At Men’s Therapy Hub, we’ll connect you with an accredited, experienced male therapist who understands your experiences and is dedicated to helping you become the man you want to be.

Our mission statement

Men were once at the forefront of psychotherapy, yet today remain underrepresented in the field. Currently, men make up around a quarter of therapists and less than a third of therapy clients globally. We hope that Men’s Therapy Hub will help to normalize men being involved in therapy as therapists and clients.
More men are seeking therapy than ever before, but we also know that dropout rates for men are high. Feeling misunderstood by their therapist is a key factor affecting ongoing attendance for men. That’s why our primary function is helping more men find high-quality male therapists they can relate to.
We know that men face unique challenges, including higher rates of suicide, addiction, and violence. Research shows that male-led mental health nonprofits and male-only support groups are showing positive results worldwide, so we’re committed to building on that momentum.
Our mission is twofold: to encourage more men to engage in therapy, whether as clients or therapists, and to create a space where men feel confident accessing life-changing relationships with other men.

We hope you’ll join us.
