These terms apply to your access to and use of our website and related services (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
We provide a platform where therapists create profiles and users can search for and contact them. We are not a healthcare provider and we do not offer clinical services.
Any agreement for services is strictly between the therapist and the client. We do not supervise, direct, control or guarantee any therapist’s practice.
We do not vet, monitor or manage the therapeutic relationship between therapists and clients.
Eligibility and Accounts
If you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure and accept responsibility for all activity on your account.
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or create risk for us or others.
Therapists’ Eligibility and Obligations
To be listed on MTH, therapists confirm and agree that they:
- Hold an active, unrestricted licence or registration for every jurisdiction in which they advertise or accept clients and practise strictly within scope. For United States practice, this includes holding a current state licence (for example LMFT, LPC/LPCC, LCSW, Psychologist or Psychiatrist/MD/DO) in each state where clients are taken.
- Hold a current and accurate licence, registration or professional membership appropriate to their profession and jurisdiction.
- Comply with local laws and rules, including telehealth, interstate practice, supervision and record-keeping requirements that apply where services are provided.
- Maintain professional indemnity or professional liability insurance appropriate to their practice and jurisdiction.
- Adhere to the ethical standards of their recognised professional body, licensing board or regulator, including safeguarding and complaints handling.
- Are professionally qualified and appropriately registered with a recognised counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, social work or related mental health body.
- Undertake supervision and continuing professional development or continuing education as required by their regulator or professional body.
- Provide accurate, current profile information, including name, qualifications, licence numbers and issuing bodies, jurisdictions of practice, modalities, fees, availability and contact details, and promptly update it if anything changes.
- Avoid misleading or unverifiable claims in profiles or communications, including outcomes, success rates or protected titles they are not authorised to use.
- Respond to enquiries professionally and in good faith.
- Manage their own bookings, records, consent procedures, privacy obligations and client relationships.
- Remain solely responsible for their own insurance, supervision and professional practice.
We may review, refuse or remove any profile that we reasonably believe breaches these terms, applicable law or our values.
